Camp-Out the race

Camp at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport during the Great American Electric Air Race.

Eligibility

Camping is available only to:

  • Fly-in pilots and their guests

  • Registered event volunteers who have received a confirmation email through the volunteer registration process

Dates:

  • Earliest Arrival: Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 9:00 AM

  • Latest Departure: Monday, October 19 by 10:00 AM

    Registration and approval required before arrival

Cost:

Fly-In: $50 flat rate

Volunteers: Free of charge (upon registration confirmation)

  • Aircraft parking: designated airport parking area

  • RV/Drive-in camping: designated grass area

  • Keep camping, vehicles, and aircraft within designated areas

Check-OUt

  • Check-in and check-out are available only during normal FBO operating hours at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport.

  • Check in at the FBO upon arrival.

  • Your designated campsite will be provided upon arrival, if applicable.

  • Follow all instructions provided by airport and event staff.

  • Friday Shuttle

    If there is enough interest from campers, we will arrange a Friday shuttle to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Details will be shared with registered campers if the shuttle is offered.

Quiet hours will be from 10 PM–7 AM every night.

Ground Rules

  • Follow all instructions from airport and event staff at all times.

  • Airport staff directions must be followed immediately, particularly regarding aircraft movement, restricted areas, parking, and safety.

  • Stay within designated camping, parking, pedestrian, and event areas.

  • Keep runways, taxiways, and restricted areas clear.

  • Give operating aircraft plenty of space.

  • Keep vehicles and equipment out of aircraft movement areas.

  • Keep your campsite clean and remove all trash, stakes, and ropes before departure.

  • Follow airport and event staff instructions at all times.

  • Aircraft and airport operations take priority.

  • Quiet hours are 10:00 PM–7:00 AM.

  • Follow all fire and bonfire guidelines.

Fly-In Camping | Great American Electric Air Race

Reserve your campsite at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport for the Great American Electric Air Race. The $50 flat-rate fee covers camping from Tuesday, October 13 through Sunday, October 18 at 10:00 AM.

Camping is available to registered fly-in pilots and their guests, as well as eligible event volunteers. Registration and approval are required before arrival.
