AAM Workshops
Workshop 1 - Sustainability of AAM
Supply Chain and Manufacturing, Workforce, Maintenance
This session explores the long-term sustainability of the advanced air mobility industry through the lens of workforce development and supply chain resilience. Discussions will focus on building a skilled talent pipeline, strengthening regional and national supply chains, manufacturing capacity, and ensuring the industry can scale in a reliable, competitive, and equitable way.
Workshop 2 - Hybrid Electric Power and AAM
Fuel Sources, Infrastructure, Power
This session examines the role of hybrid-electric propulsion systems in advancing AAM. Participants will discuss how hybrid technologies extend range and performance, improve efficiency, and address certification and safety requirements. Use cases and research insights will highlight where hybrid solutions can accelerate adoption.
Workshop 3 - eVTOL Operations
Airspace, Operators, Ground Handling
This session explores the daily realities of operating eVTOL aircraft, both on the ground and in the air. Beyond OEM perspectives, the discussion will highlight the role of operators, service providers, airports, and regulators in shaping safe and efficient operations. Topics include crew and ground handling procedures, maintenance practices, flight operations, airspace coordination, and how these elements come together to create a seamless passenger and cargo experience.
Workshop 4 - AAM Infrastructure
EB105a, Vertiports, Heliports, Airports, Rural and Urban Planning
This session highlights the pivotal role MPOs, state DOTs, and airports will play in ensuring the success of vertiports and related infrastructure. Discussion will center on aligning design and construction with FAA standards, integrating charging and airspace management systems, and coordinating land use and transportation planning. Equally important, participants will explore strategies for building community acceptance and confidence in AAM infrastructure as part of the broader transportation network.
